The Princess mattress is a traditionally designed orthopaedic mattress, robust 12.5 gauge (1) open coil spring unit, micro-quilted damask cover and high loft fillings to give additional comfort. The Princess is one of our best selling budget mattresses.

(1) The thickness of wire in a spring, its gauge, is assigned a number. The thickest gauge is 12.5 (ie the wire diameter is 1/12.5 inches) and is often called "orthopaedic". Wire thicknesses can go down to 1/18th of an inch, 18 gauge, found in the more sensitive pocket sprung mattresses, and all things being equal the higher the gauge the softer the mattress.
